Hey everyone,

I have a strange question. I have heard stories of boat manufacturers (Boston Whaler) adding lead ballast to the stern of a boat to compensate when rigging with a single outboard to compensate for not having the weight of the second motor. Does anyone know if Robalo ever did this? I just repowered with twin 150 Optimax and my boat sits about 2" lower in the stern at rest. No performance issues when running, and all scuppers are above water. Just curious if I needed to look around for 400lbs of lead in the hull lol!

Thanks,

Mike

Good question, but I think the answer is no. The only time lead was glassed into the boat was to compensate for the fresh water tank (2440???) .
