Hello everyone I just joined figured I might could use a little guidance on this new project. Today a got a 21' center console all but free, needs a transom (piece of cake) just wondering should I remove the deck and ditch the foam or leave it be? After removing front running light foam under light is soaked. Drilled holes in different places under the boat bone dry everywhere. Is the foam in the nose in front of ancor box sealed off from the rest of the hull? Boats in too go of shape to remove the floor unless it's really worth it. Thanks in advance! Frog

Hi Frog, welcome to the site!

I would recommend leaving the foam. It provides a few functions; floatation in case of being swamped, adds some support to the deck (minimal, but does help), and helps tie the inner liner to the hull. That foam is also like Gorilla glue and a pain to get loose. Just read some of the threads regarding gas tank removal...that is the same foam!

Not sure if there is a frame between the stringers up front that would prevent the water from draining back in the hull. I would not be too concerned if the other places you checked appeared to be dry.
