Full Custom rebuild on a 1979 23 center console!!!!

Recommended Posts

After looking at these last pictures, the only thing I can say is awesome!  I have only seen one other restoration that came close to this, and it was by a custom boat builder down in the Southern Caribbean that used lots of teak for his project.  You and your uncle should be very proud how this turned out.  I especially like how you guys strayed a little from the original boat by adding your own custom pieces, keeping them subtle so as to not over-power the boat.  Thanks for sharing the pictures and comments along the way.

I have seen so many custom boats in my years in the industry from 13’ Boston Whaler to 65’ Radovich and your

23’ ROBALO make me wanting to see more. I would love to see yours in person someday to look at your skills

portrayed in your “EILEN“.  Thank you for posting and pleas keep the pics coming especially with the decks bloody with that trophy Tuna.

A year and a half ago my uncle found a 23 cc in decent shape we have been looking for a hull to do a custom rebuild to for while and with the good reputation of these older robalo my uncle decide this was the boat to rebuild. We literally gutted the entire boat down to the bare hull.... things we have done to this point custom mouled a bow pulpit made of kusa board sanded all gel coat filled and fared everything prepped and painted entire boat with Alexa seal two part marine paint re did fuel cell lid with Kuba board installed new fuel cell along with new venture and fuel lines, had the bow pulpit components all made handed lathe the stainless rollers, remade all teak from scratch hand made all new hatch frames and doors by hand, installed new teak tow rail and gunner boards, custom made new hard top with light and radar pods also has recessed running lights, made back transom box into livewell/ slush box,had console cooler custom made out of stainless steel, installed new stainless rubrail,of course there is to much to listed when we're all said and done there will not be one piece of this boat that we didn't touch or rebuild literally everything is brand new and made by us a lot of work but hopefully it will pay off in the final product here are some pics after paint was done will post some of the bow pulpit construction and prior paint pics soon as I get them down loaded.

WOW Morningwood!!!! That thing is badass!!!! Been quit a while for me here. I ended selling my 230 2 years ago, I so regretted it 😥 . I was strolling through market place on facebok, and BAM! there's my old 230 for sale! As you can guess I bought it back!!!

The work you have done is beyond beautiful!!! Can't wait to see more pics!

That is a gorgeous retro-mod as they say. I love the re-do of the original console and the prod off the bow for the windlass is nicely done. I'd love to see more pics of that from initial shape to layup, etc. All said and done how much chain and rode can your locker hold? I'd love to do that project on my 2120 as well.
