Started this on fri and really tore into it today. Was unsure about how to pop the cap off. A bottle jack in the bilge area ,a few hours of prying and a lot of hillbilly ingenuity did the job. Foam removal was a lot easier than expected. Stringers were rotten and removed. Managed to save enough of the old Transom to hopefully make a template for the new one. Thinking of replacing transom and stringers with marine grade ply but open to opinions and options. I was reading vinyl ester resin may be the way to go? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I had the rare opportunity where my wife was on another boat this weekend and we were all running together so I got her to take some running shots of the boat.

Hi guys, great site! I hope you won't find my questions too tedious. I have an '86 r1800 that is presently sitting on a roller trailer (wobble style) that has hardware issues. There are 16 sets of tandem rollers and previous owner seems to have used cotter pins instead of hog rings and they have fused inside the aluminum roller shafts. So, I'm into all new shafts, spacers, washers, hog rings, etc. What I'm wondering is whether anyone has set this hull on bunks? The bottom has never been painted and I'm not too fond of the marring from the black rollers anyway, so i figure I should consider skipping the labor to fix what I have and put time/money into a bunk conversion. I have uploaded a pic of the trailer. Would love to hear your thoughts, thanks in advance!
