  1. The console resurfacing, I had done on the R2660..after they removed epoxy, filled in spider cracks, etc.. came out ok. pictures first two- top of console L & R side views, 3rd side of console, last is front of console.
  2. Oh, still waiting on her graphics to come in....changed her name to "Reel therapy" with a fish at the end.
  3. The seating will match the wood on the boat with removable cushions, the Marina has a man who specializes in teak wood work, he already did the side gunnels, tried to save the old teak, but it was too far gone. I'm also redoing the battery box covers as they are not water tight and my batteries are always getting wet from the wood currently there, So, that will be made water tight...heck she is just as good as a new boat now. Not too much left to do to it, now. Unless, I decide to re-gel coat all of her...been thinking of it.
  4. No, I don't have any pictures, will take some this week-end, Marina said they had to do it three times for it to come out ooking good, and it did come out good..I'll get pictures for you.
  5. Yup, the epoxy was work the old owner had done to it, blended in with cream color paint and the marina did not notice, when I asked them to take care of what ever cracks the console had. Not sure if I have pictures or not of the refinished console ( done summer of 2013) Will look, if not I'll take some this week-end, so you can see the new area. just did the top part, not the whole console.
  6. New Transom complete, they the Marina just waiting on the custom bench to come in....also added what she use to look like. Work done by Southport Marine, South Portland Maine.
  7. had epoxy in my console, and when they went to re gel coat the top part of the console, , the gel coat would not stick to the epoxy, and the paint ran. They had to remove all epoxy, sand and fill with fiberglass and resand. So be careful with the epoxy.
  8. Thanks for that Air Bill, head nets are a good idea..one thing I did not think of, thank you ! Yes, I'll be in the Homer area, and found a guide to take us around, will be both halibut and salmon fishing. Actually leaving in 6 days for 15 days of fishing then back to the boats here for a few weeks...then winter storage time. ( yuck) . Will bring back pictures. Nice Salmon, and now you have my mouth watering for some of the smoked stuff... @ Scott's yott..... hahahaha !!!!
  9. So I added just a few pictures of the new transom that I had custom made for the Robalo R2660...been a fun project and the guys at the Marina did great, I am very pleased and she handles great. Here are just a few pictures of launch time yesterday. I get to go play on her this week-end then I'm off to Alaska fishing for two weeks. They still need to add the name graphics and the new seating bench being custom made. Will get more pics of her this week-end. Then over the course of the winter I can focus on some more cosmetic stuff. She's coming along nicely. you can see the new pictures in the album. http://robaloboatowners.net/forums/index.php?app=gallery&album=117
  10. Anyone been to Alaska for Salmon and Halibut fishing? Going for 15 day vacation in Sept of 14. Any advice?
  11. ok as promised , added a few pics of the transom work being done, you can see before and durning pics under my album ( Jerichodaize , summer 2013) http://robaloboatowners.net/forums/index.php?app=gallery&image=923 http://robaloboatowners.net/forums/index.php?app=gallery&image=924
  12. Not worried about the funds, would not be doing it if I was... I love the boat. I'm looking forward to having her back this summer to take her out and play on the waves., she does things my Searay only dreams of, and that was with an unknown bad transom ( oops ) . There replacing the transom with wood and no epoxy will be used. They will use boat building materials, they gave me the names but don't remember, but they said epoxy don't like to adhere and is not good for the transom work. As far as the bracket, I am not sure to be honest but good question and something I should ask them. So I'll get back to you on that one. I sure will take pictures and share them with you all. I'm looking forward to the end result and heck she'll look better. I'm just glad the issue will be resolved. I hope I'm not making a mistake by doing this kind of work to a almost 30 yr old boat.
  13. well here it is...the bottom half of my transom is fine the top half is rotted, apparently when they replaced the transom they did the bottom half and not the top, hence leading to the issues I had on top of no scupper holes for water to drain out of the engine well and the added bilge was installed wrong, so it's a 17 thousand dollar fix. but I am having some additional work done to her also, well be adding a bracket for the motor to help relieve some stress of the new transom being done now, on top of adding scupper holes to drain deck water, repaint/glaze and we are riding the boat of that engine well which will be turned into seating area and the seawall on transom will be built up and it's all being done professionally. With this work they said there is no reason on why the old girl as long as cared for wont be around another 20 years or so. So another expensive fix....but I kinda like the old girl. Oh, they will also be adding a platform to the transom area for easier access and for safety in case I have to do a rescue from someone falling off...will send pictures when she is finished.
  14. ok the attachment did not take so added them to the photo gallery here http://robaloboatowners.net/forums/index.php?app=gallery&album=117
